Inspire you with what God is leading others to do and how He is blessing their ministries
- Connect you with others who are serious about ministering to the real needs of people
A significant presentation will be made by SonBridgeCommunity Center, located in College Place. They will be telling the remarkable stories of their providential beginnings and about the challenges and rewards of their various ministries which include the SOS medical clinic, their thrift store ministry, housing their TV and radio ministries and more.
Fast-paced interviews will be conducted with
- Pat Crew of Deary Adventist Community Services. Everything in their store is FREE, with donations accepted. They are well on their way to raising the money to build a new warehouse which will house their expanding food bank and furniture center.
- Diana Pierce of Restoration House, a brand new ministry in the Plummer area to women who have been abused or who are in transition. (You have to hear her refrigerator story!)
- Doug Venn and Donna Hutchcroft, NPUC DR Director and UCC DR Director, respectively. Adventist Community Services is one of the five top responders in the time of a national disaster, along with FEMA, the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and Second Harvest Food Bank. The US government and all 50 states have official agreements with ACS and will look to us for help in a disaster. We must be ready! Learn more about a ministry that is essentially undiscovered in the Northwest!
- LeEllen Bradshaw from Community Services of Pasco, a dynamite thrift store ministry which also dispenses food and is well connected in the community.
- David Wallace from the Better Living Center in Spokane, a food bank serving over 600,000 pounds of food each year. The BLC, which has three constituent churches, has recently undergone significant renovations of its physical plant as well as its organizational/leadership structure.
- And many others which will be listed here as they are confirmed.
In addition, there will be
- An overview regarding the amazing mission and vision of Adventist Community Services at the North American Division level
- An introduction to the upcoming NAD ACS convention in New Mexico and the Leadership Certification program to be held on the West Coast this year in the nearby Portland area.
Moderator: Cheri Corder, the director of Adventist Community Services and Sabbath School Ministries for Upper Columbia Conference.
Lunch will be provided free for those who register by Wednesday, March 26.
