Biographical Sketch:

As the Ministerial director for the Upper Columbia Conference, Gerald Heager's job is to minister to the pastoral team. He is the pastor's pastor and he coordinates support to help build them up physically, emotionally, spiritually and professionally.

In addition to pastoral ministry, Gerald has been involved in missions, evangelism, and health ministry. He graduated from Andrews University with a Master of Arts in Old Testament, and a Master of Divinity in Systematic Theology. After serving in the Northern California Conference as a pastor for five years, Gerald responded to a call to mission service in Peru. There he served as a pastor and as director of Sabbath School and ADRA for the South Peru Mission and later as an instructor in the Theology department at the Inca Union College.

Upon returning from the mission field, Gerald attended Loma Linda University and received his Masters of Public Health degree. He later served at the Health Education Centre in Victoria, British Columbia, a ministry that was operated by the Victoria Adventist church. Gerald was the associate pastor of the church and served as the Executive Director of the Health Centre coordinating activities with the members doing Stop Smoking, stress management, and vegetarian cooking classes. While there he also initiated and coordinated home Bible study groups, established a new congregation and served mentor for pastoral interns.

Gerald and his wife, Gayle, live in Spokane, Washington. In his spare time Gerald enjoys asking people he meets a "wondering question" in hopes of sharing the love of Jesus with a new friend.
