Biographical Sketch:

Richard Parker has been the Youth Ministries director and the Director of Camp MiVoden for the Upper Columbia Conference since 1995. His passion is knowing Jesus and walking with Him daily. Richard's goal is to do all he can to help young people see Jesus more clearly and decide to follow Him--whether at church or above all in the great outdoors.

Richard grew up in sunny, San Diego, California, and after graduating from San Diego Academy and Pacific Union College, he pastored the Oakhurst/North Fork district in the Central California. After attending the seminary at Andrews University he pastored in Lompoc, California, and later in Milpitas, California. In 1990 he took a call to the Chesapeake Conference in Maryland where he was the Youth Ministries director, and in 1995 he came to the same position in Upper Columbia.

When Richard is not working on camp projects or organizing the next youth activity, he likes to spend time with his wife, Cherie, and his two great sons, Chris and Zach either traveling, working on cars, gardening or doing projects around the house.
