New Leadership

February 5, 2009

Greetings, Prayer Team!

Last week at this time, we prayed for the committee electing our new leader. This week, we welcome Robert Folkenberg Jr., along with his wife and children, to our Upper Columbia Conference family. (You may read more at http://www.uccsda.org.)

In all the talking and planning prior to last week’s committee, the focus honed in on (among other things) integrity, team spirit, openness, unity, and the strong message and mission of the church. We looked for qualities in a leader we wanted to see in ourselves, for we knew that by beholding, and subsequently following, we become changed.

Paul’s counsel to Titus acknowledges as much: “But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine…” Titus 2:1

Why? So that those he led could produce fruit, tuning their lives to the pitch of their beliefs, of the Bible and all its principles.

May our new leader also, by the grace of God, bear fruit by his words and his life in those who follow. Our prayers are with him!

On behalf of Patsy Wagner,
