The Birds
April 17, 2008
Greetings, Prayer Team!
Patsy remarked to me this morning how persistent birds can be—never let it be said that they would leave a thistle seed untouched in the feeder! Even if they take the last bit of food, they trust (for they have learned of Patsy’s nature) that more will be supplied.
I love birds. They sing first thing in the morning. They hop. They fly. They occupy the funniest little bodies, all covered in feathers. They travel in flocks. They sleep in trees.
The roosters especially steal my heart with their crows. I hear them as I walk in the early morning, but I can’t see them. It seems as though their calls come from nowhere, and surprise me each time. I hop, let out a giggle and a smile, and say back to them, “Good morning!” I admire their courage and probably sheer glee in greeting the morning rambunctiously every day of their lives.
And I wonder: Does God bounce along a little more happily when I sing to Him—even if my song sounds a bit funny like a crow’s caw or a goose’s call?
I should sing more often.
Thank you for your prayers over the education rally last weekend. It was a wonderful success! As we near this weekend, we solicit your prayers for MiVoden. They have a meeting with county commissioners on Monday to go over their conditional use (building) permit. Let us be like the birds at Patsy’s feeder, always singing and trusting that God will provide all the needs for MiVoden at just the right time.
