Cross Training: Closing in on the Finish Line

[May 14, 2007] The Upper Columbia Conference will hold it’s annual Camp Meeting Friday and Sabbath, June 15 and 16, on the Campus of Walla Walla College. This year’s theme is “Cross Training: Closing in on the Finish Line”.

Kicking off Friday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. This year’s weekend Camp Meeting starts with training events to learn fresh strategies for engaging in the Gospel commission right here at home. The Friday and Saturday night speaker will be Philip Samaan and the Sabbath morning speaker will be Elder Walter Wright.

Dr. Walter L. Wright is currently the president of the Lake Union Conference. He has been a pastor, evangelist and church leader in the North American Division for over 35 years and has conducted evangelism and family seminars in 12 countries. He has recently authored the book, My Daddy Told Me So. He and his wife, Jackie, developed the "Marriage Maintenance Seminar," which is in demand around the world.

Dr. Walter WrightDr. Philip SamaanDr. Philip Samaan is a professor of theology at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. Previously, he served as the chief editor of the Adult Sabbath School Lessons at the General Conference. Some of his published works are the books, Christ’s Way of Reaching People, Christ’s Way to Spiritual Growth, and Christ’s Way of Making Disciples.

In addition to the training events and the featured speakers, Camp Meeting will feature a Music Festival. Some of the musicians in the music festival include the Tempest Hand Bells hand bell choir, Ladies Praise, TriCities Men’s Chorus, and singer Natalia Nesteruk.
