Spangle, Wash., January 18, 2012 - Upper Columbia Academy announced the selection of a new principal following Troy Patzer's decision to join the Upper Columbia Conference Trust department, effective July 1, 2012.
Patzer says, "Renee and I have been blessed to be a part of UCA these past 13 years and particularly these last four as principal. How rewarding to work with such talented young people and their families and an honor to work side by side with some of the most gifted, compassionate and Christ Centered staff members in education. Not only do we believe God will continue to bless UCA, we are also excited for what God has in store for us in our next chapter with the Upper Columbia Conference."
Following Patzer's decision to accept Upper Columbia Conference's call to work with Trust Services, the academy board began a search for a new principal. The board announced Monday they voted to invite John Winslow to serve as principal for the coming school year.
Winslow, currently serving as principal for Campion Adventist Academy, is no stranger to the northwest. Prior to serving in Colorado, Winslow was the vice-principal at UCA. He will begin serving as UCA principal July 1, 2012.
Winslow says, "I look forward to allowing God to work through me and the staff at UCA to share the Love of Christ, including our unique Adventist message, with young people as well as the amazing and exciting life that comes by walking with Him and sharing Him with others. Simply stated, I pray that, with renewed commitment, we will continue to share the love of Christ with kids in such a way that they can't help but fall in love with Him and be life-long missionaries for Him."
He also emphasizes how he appreciates what Patzer and the current academy staff have done in creating a Christ-centered atmosphere that is also strong academically.
Winslow and his wife, Allison, have three children; Jonathan 5, William 3 and Victoria 1.
