“If you cannot help with VBS, don’t give me excuses,” Jean tells people with a grin, “Give me a donation!” One person gives $100 each year and another gives $500!

Their group of 50 kids was down from 75 last year. They attributed this mostly to the fact that they changed it from the week they usually hold it.

Having a gym as part of their fellowship hall gives them the opportunity to offer basketball as one of their activities.

For music, Coeur d’Alene’s pastor, Lloyd Perrin, found some children’s videos at the ABC that he really liked: “Sabbath School Songs”, “Bible Songs” and “Action Bible Songs” by Cedermont KIDS. These were lively and fun but not “rocky” as those that come with some VBS programs.

“VBS is not for wimps!” says Pastor Lloyd. “But it is one of the greatest evangelistic tools we have.” On both counts, he is right!
