Less than three years ago, average attendance at the Ione church was seven. Today, they have a vibrant and growing congregation with attendance ranging from forty to fifty!
After putting on two great VBS programs in 2005 and 2006, the Ione church had a reputation building in the community. “Be sure you tell us when your VBS is,” people would say, “We don’t want to miss it!”
The church members don't want to miss it either. On one day this summer, they had 23 kids and 23 staff members! Their highest day was 25 kids with TWENTY of those coming from the community!
With some of their church kids a little too old for VBS, they were put to work this year as "Junior Guides", helping with crafts, running the DVD and sound equipment and leading the music. At sixteen, one girl was the main up-front leader any time all the groups were together and she did a great job.
