Castles and Crowns
Leader: Marilyn Jorgensen
Monday, July 21, was a beautiful day at the South Hill church in Spokane, Wa. Sixty excited kindergarten, primary and junior boys and girls dashed through the doors anticipating Vacation Bible School. Into the castle they went where the King was on his throne and Kirsty Krause was leading out in songs that were enjoyed all week. Castles and Crowns was the theme this year focusing on kings and queens of the Bible.
We also focused on the La Vita Mission in New Mexico. Each boy and girl was given a mission cup and took it home each night so they could bring money each morning to help the Mission get a water purifier. Most of the cups returned each morning with bills and change dedicated to the Mission. To impress the students, Kirsty had a glass of muddy water and a glass of clean water the first day. As she took a sip out of each you could hear a great response thus we raised $200!
The mission has acknowledged the gift with much thankfulness. Excellent crafts, Bible lesson stories with crafts, enthusiastic games with delicious snacks rounded out each morning. We were all so excited that so many children were eager to learn how Jesus loves them and what he has done for them.
