March 26, 2012 - The group made it safely to Belize. They are on their adventure today to go snorkeling. They will also get to visit a little island that has white sanded beaches for lunch and some shopping. Then they return back to the dorms at the hospital in Belize for their last night. Tomorrow morning they head off to the airport to begin their journey home.

March 24, 2012 - Clean! Clean! Clean! that's what we've did after sundown yesterday: these kids are hard workers. Inspiring! So after an early awakening and quick breakfast, we received an inspiring message of how this trip will affect us or can impact back home! our lives, and everyone else! Today we visit the Guatemalan market and get a taste of the culture before we depart on our 4 hour drive to Belize: where supper awaits! Looking forward to SNORKELING tomorrow! Let the fun begin!

We'll be home soon ladies and gentlemen! We'll be home soon! Not only to our loved ones and comfortable beds, but home: heaven! Thank you for your prayers and support. see you soon!

March 24, 2012 - We are having Sabbath Service in the new church we built. We are so looking forward to this service with the people that we have built relationships with all week. It is both a happy and sad day. We get to celebrate the new church, but this is also the last day we are spending with our wonderful friends here. We give all the glory to God for this amazing accomplishment during this mission trip.

March 22, 2012 - We have visited some of the poorest villages and distributed blankets,  sang for the people and prayed with them.  We are able to help these people in a small way, but they were really helping us. These people are happy and they have nothing. Our lives will be forever changed with our experiences we have been Blessed to have while we are here. We are so glad that Jesus is here to share this experience with us.

March 21, 2012 - So this amazing thing happened yesterday for the evangelistic meeting/VBS:
The lights were out in the whole when we drove through the town where the new church is being built. We have the meetings right next to the site, in a pavilion. Well, there was no electricity anywhere. The meetings start at 7. It seemed that no one would arrive because there were no lights. We prayed 2 times, and everytime after we prayed we hoped that the lights would just come on! but they didn't. Finally we decided with the head elder that we would go home at 7:15 if the lights weren't back by then. We prayed one last time. and guess what? at 7:13 the lights came back on and we held the meeting and VBS. miracle or what? We're truly experiencing the power of GOD.

March 20, 2012 - The internet has been having a bit o' difficulty so our communication has been somewhat blurred. But everyone is well. We've had a few sicklings here and there, but thank God for our wonderful nurses who are able to keep an eye on those hard working kids who just push their way thru to heat exhaustion, but reminder after reminder and push and shove to rest (these kids are hard workers!) everyone has been able to maintain health. We've kept some in the shade doing vbs or kitchen prep and clean up so they can rest from the heat and sun of the construction site. You all should be very very proud! I am. Today was our first day of pushing the schedule a 1/2 hour earlier, and they were all troopers! The construction is moving forward: hoping that the roof is able to be up by Friday evening. Keeping you posted. Blessings and love from Guatemala.

March 19, 2012 - All IS going well. thank God. trying to get some pics up tomorrow morning: so much to do. so little time. Thank you so much for your prayers, I know that there are many people whose prayers are being heard and answered. About hearts and lives being touched and changed: even our own. The Spirit is doing something amazing, you can FEEL it when songs of worship are sung and testimonies being shared. Half way there: one more week!
Construction seems right on schedule, so pray we can get a bit ahead tomorrow. More people attended today, than yesterday to the VBS and evang. meetings pray for decisions.
Thank you for your support and prayers and thank God for communication.

March 19, 2012 - Several layers of block has been completed on the church now. The first night of meetings and VBS were a success. More details on how many were at the meetings will follow. We are looking forward to the meetings again tonight and how many more people will be joining us as news spreads of the wonderful message that is being shared and the fun and excitement of VBS.

March 18, 2012 - Just got back from the construction site! whew! fast dinner and quick cold showers. yikes! Today Tye (our speaker) met with the head elder from the church and they are really excited to be studying with the people in the neighborhood and many people are invited that are new believers and possible baptism.

March 18, 2012- There will be a full work day today. Evangelistic meetings and VBS in the evening. The kids are very excited for VBS. Our youth have already been building relationships with the kids that will be attending VBS tonight. Keep the meetings and VBS in your prayers that we are able to reflect Christ to the many people and kids that we will be working with.

March 17, 2012 - We will be visiting the churches that have been previously built by our mission trips for Sabbath School and Church service then return back to home base for a delicious lunch and some fun afternoon activities.

March 16, 2012 - Today is Friday:  full day on site!  and finally Sabbath!  praise the Lord for the lessons we are all learning and this wonderful adventure of sharing His love and kindness with others.

A delicious meal at home base.March 15, 2012 - We had a half day yesterday, and we were very anxious to see the work site:  when we finally arrived the foundation and 4 layers  of block were done.  We started the bond beam  and leveled the inside for the floor.  By evening time a few guys stayed behind and finished the bond beam. A group of guys cleared out a huge pile of dirt under the pavilion for the VBS so it could be levelled to fit more chairs.  A group also was able to pick up a huge black bag of trash in the sorounding area of the construction site and the vbs site (which are only a couple hundred feet away from each other) and even some of the local girls wanted to help us pick up trash.  It was neat to see our kids connecting and trying to communicate with the local children.  They were teaching each other words in each others' languages. :) We returned to a fabulous dinner of veggie burgers and fries.  Which was a little taste of home. After extremly energetic games and worship, we turned off the lights at 9:30 and slumber began.

On the road again traveling to Guatemala.

Fixing a flat tire on the way to Guatemala.

March 14, 2012  - After loading ALL the luggage into the truck and hopping on the bus, we set off to the Guatemala border. Munching on some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and a few other munchies our bellies were satisfied. Suddenly there was a strange sound: but thank God we had strong men in our team to help change the flat tire. In just a few minutes we were back on the road! Crossing the border went smooth. We SAFELY arrived in Guatemala yesterday around 9pm: whew! sleep was well needed. This morning: we will be having breakfast in just a few minutes: Thank you for your prayers. We will keep you posted! The weather here is warm and humid, with random showers.

March 13, 2012 - Took about 2 hours to check in and pass security but EVERYONE checked in and we find ourselves in Salt Lake City, Utah awaiting to board our plane to Atlanta in just 2 hours. We just finished journaling for the first time and were extremely blessed by Pr. Shane's talk: thank you for prayers

Location: Poptun, Guatemala

Project: We will be building a church, village outreach, medical clinic, putting on a series of evangelistic meetings, and Vacation Bible School.
