SCANNING ON THE XEROX DOCUCOLOR 3535 There is NO cost associated with scanning things. This is how to use the Xerox to scan things, download them into Paporport or from the web, and export them as a PDF, TIFF or JPG. 1. Login to Xerox with your user code [confirm], [Menu], [Scan], [BoxName] where you'll usually use the boxname of PublicColor or PublicBW. 2. To change the resolution/Quality of your scan, close the boxname selections window, and choose your settings. 3. Scan your document(s) at the Xerox by pressing [PRINT] (big green button). You may scan as many documents as you desire before proceeding to step 5. 4. To scan multiple documents into the same file, either use the document feeder at the top of the machine, or indicate that your scan is NOT the last document in the scan job DURING the scan of the first page by touching the screen. IF YOU WANT TO USER YOUR WEB BROWSER 5. Go to http://172.17.1.253/ A POPUP will ask you to login. *You may need Java Virtual Machine. see Q:\masters\ms 6. Login as Guest with the Password 11111 and click [OK] 7. Click [WebScan] on the menu at the left. A POPUP named "WebScan" will ask you for your mailBox name. 8. Key in your mailbox name such as PublicColor or PublicBW (this is Case-Sensative) and click [Refresh] *NOte, you may have to hold shift and hit a desired character TWICE to get it to change case. 9. Choose your scan from the list (identifiable by date) by clicking on it and the row will turn blue 10. Choose your file format: PDF, JPG, or TIFF 11. Pages: (x) ALL should be selected. 12. Click [Save As] to download the selected scan. 13. If the file is not sent to you, but does show up in the browser, Use [File] > [Save As ...] in your browser or click on the DISK icon in Adobe Acrobate to choose a location to save the file. 14. PLEASE Clean up. Return to the "WebScan" window and delete the file you chose if it does not need to persist on the xerox. 15. Repeat the select and download process to save additional scan jobs. IF YOU HAVE PAPEPORT 9 5. Go into PaperPort 9, and choose to scan from Scanner: Fiery Remote Scan 5, [Scan], key in Mailbox Name (example PublicColor, or PublicBW) The Mailbox that was PREVIUSLY used will show up by default. You may need to key in your MailBox name. 6. Choose the documents you want and [Aquire]. You may Aquire more then one scan job. 7. click [Close], then Paperport writes the image files. 8. You may now work with your Scans in PaperPort 9. (copy them elsewhere by dragging and dropping if need be) 9. PLEASE Clean Up. You may need to re-enter [Scan] from Paperport 9 and [DELETE] your scan off the Xerox if it's still in the list.
