Katelyn Weakley, MDiv, MSW — Keynote Speaker

Katelyn Weakley loves traveling to new places, tabletop games, adorable animal videos, and a good bowl of massaman curry. With licensure in social work, she employs social work theory and practices in her pastoral ministry. Katelyn has co-authored a book about worldview entitled Living with the Mind of Jesus, and besides pastoring she has also spent a few years teaching high school religion classes. In her ministry, Katelyn emphasizes emotionally and spiritually healthy living as God has planned for us, and she is very passionate about God's restorative work in our lives. Currently she lives in Portland, OR with her husband Ben and their dog Waverly.


Joyce Wilkens — Special feature

Joyce Wilkens works from her home on the Palouse in Spokane, Washington. Her passion  for stories, beauty in expression, nature, cultures and faith prompted her work as photographer and artist. She is author of three photo table books: Teacup Art, Walking Sticks and Poetry Pie. 

 

As “Abuelita” to 6 young grand-treasures, Joyce frequently sports and is comfortable with wrestled hair and food on her clothing.

 

Joyce thanks God and the Holy Spirit for opportunities to grow her faith through prayer and connecting with people—to be inspired by their stories. to laugh together, to help, to revel in God's creation, to become friends and rejoice in the assurance of our rescue to eternity.


Natasha Nesteruk — Musical feature

Natasha Nesteruk, a nurse, and Christian singer, loves the Lord and finds joy in encouraging people with songs that uplift Jesus. Natasha and her husband Volody came originally from Ukraine responding to the call for pastoral ministry in Upper Columbia Conference. They live in Spokane, WA and have three grown up children.


Becky Moreland— Musical feature

I am a Northwest girl, with three beautiful kids. After spending 18 years working as a dental hygienist, I feel God has called me in a different direction. Today, I spend my days volunteering and substitute teaching young people. It is my hope and prayer that those I encounter will see a glimpse of Jesus.


Marilyn Salmon—Featured Guest

Chaplain Marilyn Salmon is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. She attended Southwestern Adventist University and obtained her degree in nursing. She has spent the last 35 years at the bedside with 30 of those years in the setting of Intensive Care. She draws spiritual application from her career experience in dealing with critically ill patients, their families and end of life issues. She feels it is such a privilege to come along side patients and their families during that part of life to ease their way.


Marilyn’s current responsibilities include committee duties as Ethics Champion for Providence Health in her region with executing ethical decision-making for difficult cases. She also serves as probationary Chaplain for Spokane County Sheriff’s department offering spiritual care during difficult times for individuals and deputies. She has also served in rural Kenya as member and team lead to a hospice in the community with Living Room Ministries International.


Marilyn’s passion by the Spirit is to be an ambassador for God through which He can make His appeal to mankind. Her desire is to inspire and encourage people to seek out their giftedness in Christ to build the body of Christ. 


Marilyn is married to Rupert and they have two adult daughters. 


Heidi Jones—Featured Guest

Heidi Jones is a hospice chaplain for Logan Health Hospice in Kalispell, Montana. She received her master's in divinity from Andrews University and has spent her career helping others deal with grief and end of life care. She lives in Spokane with her husband, Dustin, and two young boys.
