Campmeeting Can Change Your Life

June 10, 2020

We are praying intentionally that this year's campmeeting will change your life!

There is something unique about the 2020 camp meeting to be held virtually in Upper Columbia Conference (UCC). This is a year of firsts and it is our prayer that this camp meeting will exceed your expectations! Join us for spiritual renewal June 17-20, 2020! The schedule below includes online seminars, children's programming, great music, and engaging sermons.

Children will enjoy the “Mud Guy” A.K.A. Rich Aguilera. Each evening this interesting character will share amazing stuff about God. Aguilera has been writing for Guide Magazine for more than 10 years. He has authored several books and has toured with a live stage show about dinosaurs. What is amazing is that he created the programs for this camp meeting specifically for this time and place in history. Quite a few adults are looking forward to this part of camp meeting as well.

This year’s theme, titled “Search and Rescue,” echoes the mission of Upper Columbia Conference to reach one more for Jesus. This in turn resonates with the words of Jesus, “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost,” Luke 19:10.

On Thursday afternoon four seminars are available. Two at 3 p.m. and two at 4 p.m. This schedule is repeated on Friday.

Michael Harpe, director of stewardship for the North American Division will teach on finance during a recession. John Torquato, a local physician in Spokane, Washington, will talk about keeping healthy this fall. Torquato has participated in the “Dinner with the Doctor” programs held in eastern Washington. Learn more about Bible prophecy and how COVID-19 plays a role with Brant Berglin, assistant professor of biblical studies at Walla Walla University. Buddy Griffith, family ministries leader along with his wife, Carmen Griffith, director of women’s ministries, from the Southwestern Union Conference of Adventists will present a seminar on marriage and family and how both of those have been impacted during COVID-19.

Each evening at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sabbath, enjoy a spiritual feast through music and spoken word. The main speaker, Lee Venden and musician, Buddy Houghtaling, are teammates in ministry. Together this evangelist and musician have brought spirit-filled biblical truths to many for the past 15 years.

Lee and Marji Venden are currently a revivalist team for the Arizona Conference. His presentations are characterized by clear, practical suggestions on how to develop or deepen a meaningful relationship with Jesus.. His five presentations, "Lest I Forget Gethsemane" will take a fresh new look at Gethsemane.

Buddy Houghtaling is a songwriter and musician disguised as a dentist. His music is tailor made for Venden's series and his music has made the love of Jesus vivid for young and old alike. Following each evenings meting during the afterglow, There will be opportunities for viewers to call in and request their favorite song by Houghtaling.

Dr. Minner Labrador, the president of Upper Columbia Conference, is passionate about reaching people for Jesus. He will host the afterglow each evening.
