Archie Harris Named Interim Superintendent

August 28, 2024

Harris has served in the UCC education department since 2018.

Archie Harris, associate superintendent for education at Upper Columbia Conference, has been named interim superintendent until the position can be filled permanently. The position has been vacant since Brian Harris, former vice president for education at UCC, took a position at North Pacific Union Conference.

Archie Harris has extensive experience in education, having taught grades 1-12 previously. Harris began his teaching career in Farmington, Washington, and spent 19 years teaching in the Montana and Upper Columbia Conferences.

He became the education/youth/communication/health director for the Montana Conference in 2006, then went on to serve as vice president for education for the Washington Conference.

All together, Harris has more than 17 years experience as an education administrator. During the 2017-2018 school year, Harris took a break from administration and taught in a one-room school.

Harris joined Upper Columbia Conference as associate superintendent in 2018. He is married to Deanna, who he met in high school at Mount Ellis Academy, Bozeman, Montana. Archie and his wife have two adult daughters, Alix and Joni.
