Hugo Villalobos, lead pastor of the Hermiston and Pendleton Spanish Churches, was ordained to the gospel ministry.

Hugo Villalobos, lead pastor of the Hermiston and Pendleton Spanish Churches in Eastern Oregon, was ordained to the gospel ministry on December 5, 2020, in Hermiston, Oregon. Minner Labrador Jr., president of Upper Columbia Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (UCC); Rodney Mills, UCC vice president for administration; Allee Currier, UCC vice president for finance; Walter Pintos-Schmidt, UCC multi-cultural ministries director; and Eric Brown, UCC ministerial director, were on hand for the ceremony.

“It was such a blessing to celebrate how God is using this young man to reach people for the Kingdom," says Brown.

Due to current COVID restrictions, the ordination was held at the Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center in Hermiston, Oregon, to accommodate social distancing and abide by local and state mandates. A small group of friends and family was able to attend.

Pastor Villalobos is married to Griselda Lisbeth. They enjoy reading, going outdoors and are passionate about Jesus. Hugo Villalobos has a bachelor’s degree in theology from Central American Adventist University in Costa Rica and Lis has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the same university. Their goal is to love God and love people.
