Kettle Falls Provides DVDs to Community

I will praise thee O Lord among the people and I will sing praises to unto thee among the nations.

Pre-Covid, our group from Kettle Falls Seventh-day Adventist Church used to go once a month after church to sing at two local nursing homes. The residents would enjoy singing with us following along in the songbooks or would just enjoy listening to the singing. Instruments were commonly included with the accompaniment, a worship thought would be given, and also a special music. We were missing doing this outreach ministry and had the idea to record ourselves singing onto DVDs to circulate among the residents of the nursing homes to watch and sing-along.

Following our church service one Sabbath last month, the nursing home group got together and the children made cards for the residents. Then we spread out into five family groups in the church and sang some songs. There was also a beautiful special music on a harp, and a solo by one of the children. One of the members had the idea to live stream the program so her sons across the country could watch, and then also invite others to watch the recording. It turned out that several people, from all over, joined the sing-along. Some have not been able to attend in-person church since the start of the Corona virus about a year ago, and they said that it was such a blessing.

As the Bible says in Psalms 108:3,4 “I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great above the heavens: and thy truth reacheth unto the clouds.” We really wanted to take this to heart.

It was a wonderful blessing for us to sing together and that we could also bless others with our music. We enjoyed it so much that we have decided to get together once a month, as we once did Pre-Covid, and record ourselves singing. Not only so that we can share the DVDs to the nursing homes and let people join us via livestream, but also to pass out the recordings to anyone who would like a sing-along DVD of hymns.
