Shine 104.9 (KEEH-FM) just wrapped up Spring Friendraiser this past week, with 99% of the ($165k) goal received — with more gifts trickling in — an increase of several thousand dollars from the past Spring event. The station is non-commercial and receives 100% of its revenue from community and listener support.

“The Pacific Northwest is one of the least-churched regions of the country," said station manager Darin Patzer, "so year-round we try to pour hope and encouragement into these local communities, as well as supporting other non-profits and churches, thus our sharathons are a time when we ask the listeners to invest if they feel Christian radio has value and is making a difference. We share a lot of the testimonies which have been recorded from listeners who have had their lives changed by the influence of the station.”

Roughly seventy-five of several hundred pledges were from brand new ministry partners. Darin adds: “One man gave a $5,000 challenge gift in honor of his late wife, who he said loved the station. It was special to see her being honored through his challenge gift, which was matched by other listeners.”

Chaplain Tyler Kern, who leads the station’s community outreach and acts of service projects, went so far as to shave off his manly beard, which added several thousand more dollars in pledges.

KEEH is a non-commercial, contemporary Christian radio station, owned by Upper Columbia Media Association  with studios located at the Upper Columbia Conference office. It reaches the conference’s largest population area of Spokane, WA (as well as Coeur d’ Alene and Sandpoint, ID).

Shine 104.9 has been ranked the #1 overall radio station in the region multiple times over the past several years, as ranked by Nielsen.*
