A Day of Prayer:

Repairing the Breach

April 25, 2026

Linwood Adventist Church

About Event

Come to the Spokane Linwood Adventist Church April 25 and enjoy a day with other sincere Christians seeking to improve their prayer experience with God. Kevin Wilfley will give three messages about ways we pray and how prayer opens God’s treasure house full of blessings. And how prayer will repair and heal our lives.

A full day is planned and a midday meal is provided. After lunch there are three breakout options to learn about: Praying for our Children, Experiencing Praying through Scripture, and Learning to Listen to God. Plan on arriving between 9 and 10 a.m. We will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. To cover expenses a minimal charge of $25 will be collected when you register. (Do not let this keep you from coming. Contact us at prayer@uccsda.org for questions.)

“At this Day of Prayer we will find encouragement and peace through God’s word. We will also have time to pray with and for others and see God’s miracles in our lives. We pray this will truly be a day to "repair the breach" in individual lives.

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Lunch will be provided

“'Prayer is the work.' So said E.M Bounds
who was a pastor, teacher and author in the late 19th and early 20th century. In his eight books on prayer he often referred to the challenging but rewarding exercise of prayer. At our Day of Prayer we will look at ways to
tap into prayer more often and more successfully, for we never needed God’s miracles more than we do today."

— Pastor Kevin Wilfley

Breakout Seminars

Praying for Our Children

Presenter: Janice Smith

How the 6 O'clock Moms began. Janice Smith says it is God's brainchild that began a growing list of backslidden adult children for whom each mom has agreed to pray at 6 a.m. Janice will share her journey into daily intercessory prayer and how it blossomed into a ministry. It began because her child was drawn into evolution.

Janice is an interior designer and seasoning manufacturer and a member of a house church in northeastern Washington.

Seminar Location: Dining Hall

Experiencing Praying through Scriptures

Presenter: Debby Malone

How to bring the rich word of God into your prayer life and claim His promises (Imperatives) into our lives and the lives of our loved ones.

Debby is an active member and leads out in a prayer ministry at the Good Neighbor Church in Walla Walla, Washington.

Seminar Location: Adult SS Classroom

Be Still and Know: Learning to Listen to God

Presenter: Shuree Torgerson

When was the last time you stopped to listen for the voice of God? Amidst the chaos, it can be difficult to pick out the ‘still, small voice’ of the Holy Spirit. Shuree will share some practical approaches to cultivate a deeper, more intimate connection with God and begin listening more intentionally for the one Voice that truly matters.

Shuree is a co-prayer leader at the Lewiston Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Seminar Location: Youth Chapel
