Praying for others in 2023-2024

By Kathy Marson

Prayer ministries coordinator

Praying for all churches and schools in Upper Columbia Conference is the goal of prayer ministry by creating a weekly prayer list on our web site. The upcoming year of focused prayer is August 23, 2023 through August 14, 2024.

This year we will focus on praying for each teacher and pastor by name and for each church without a pastor. Also in our lineup are the public servants who lead state legislatures, and who serve in the US Senate and Congress. We want to also pray for each ministry such as Pathfinders, prayer ministries, food banks, school boards, women’s ministries, community outreach ministries.

If you would like us to pray for your ministry, feel free to send a quick email to prayer@uccsda.org

We can never out pray our God. He wants us to bring our requests to Him. There are no verses in the Bible that talk about praying too much! Instead, we are given advice to pray for people in high positions. We are to claim promises in God’s word by praying through them. God’s words in scripture are powerful. If we knew how much God wants to answer specific prayers, we would be in prayer more and more.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions,

and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all

who are in high positions,

that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life,

godly and dignified in every way.

1 Timothy 2:1-2.

“‘And I will give you shepherds after my own heart,

who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

Jeremiah 3:15

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another,

as good stewards of God's varied grace:

1 Peter 4:10.
